9.30 Morning Service - Family Church

9.30 is a modern style Anglican service with Holy Communion on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.  It is a family oriented service with a mix of modern and traditional styles.  Most of our singing is of contemporary and some classic Christian songs led by our band, though sometimes we are lead using our historic Clifton pipe organ.  During term time Primary aged children will go out for the sermon and prayers for their own instruction and fellowship.  They return when there is communion.  A Crèche for pre-schoolers also operates during the sermon and prayer time.  We expect to engage with God in his word, so we read and preach through the Bible, and we encourage people to participate in the service in different ways exercising the different gifts, services and workings given by our One Lord and God through his Spirit (1 Cor 12:4-6).  After church there is an opportunity for people to be prayed for by our ministry teams.  Morning Tea afterwards provides an opportunity to meet and fellowship with others.  Open to anyone. Please come and join us!  Read our vision statement.

An audio loop operates during the 9.30 service.

9.30 VISION

We are a community of God's people

who are enthusiastic about Jesus,
who want to worship God, and
proclaim the gospel.

Our desire is always to be Christ-centred and to take seriously what he says.  We want to read and understand the Bible and be able to interpret its meaning.  We expect to hear God speaking to us as we read it and will respond to what he says.  With God's help we will display Christ's character, and grow to know the Father better.

Meeting

As we meet for fellowship we want to love one another and value everybody equally.  We want to see the body of Christ built to full maturity.

Our vision is that everyone who meets in this fellowship

will want to be part of it,
will participate enthusiastically according to the Spirit's equipping so that the body is built up,
will welcome and draw in new attenders.

We want people who are not yet believers to join us in our meetings.

Serving

l We want to love God whole heartedly and to live under the authority of Jesus knowing that we are answerable to him above others.

l We want to have a caring heart, to love others by building up one another to maturity in Christ, carrying one another's burdens, admonishing and encouraging one another.  We want to exercise forgiveness towards one another.  We want to submit to the leaders of our church and to use the equippers to prepare us for our different ministries.

l We want to encourage one another to take godly risks in ministry whether or not they succeed.  We think it is important to have a go at ministry and to learn from our experiences.  We want to be a body which encourages rather than criticizes.

l We want to be salt and light, able to apply a Christian mind to the affairs of our society and the places where we work, living free from the values and focus of this age with full confidence in God, trusting him in all areas of our life, so that God is glorified through us and people see Jesus in our lives and actions.

l We want to be enthusiastic about telling the gospel of Jesus in the power of the Spirit.  We want to value people in a godly way so that we help our friends, personal contacts, and people in the community around St. Alban's become disciples of Christ.  We want to have a part in meeting some of the needs they have.  We want to support by prayer and other means those who are sharing the gospel in other places, including those who have been sent from St. Alban's.
